My name is Posido Vega. I was named after Poseidon. I’ve been playing the bass guitar since 1995 and mainly self-taught. I like all styles of music. Mostly, I’m drawn to music that is highly dynamic in expression. Whatever that means.

Oteil Burbridge, Jimmy Herring, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Chick Corea, Zakir Hussain, and my brolo Nucleo Vega have been significant influences in my perception and approach to music.

Currently, I am the bass player for Harp 46, Never in Denver, and Amanda Lee.

I have a bachelors degree in Secondary Art Education that I don’t use. But, every now and then, I’ll pick up a pencil and draw. I still enjoy teaching, just not in a classroom setting.

I love magic tricks, particularly card tricks. I used to play chess a lot.

If I could, I would probably wear a black T-shirt and a pair of jeans everyday.

I’m married to Amanda Lee. She’s awesome, loving, and my best-friend.

I also have two really quirky cats, Walter (on the right) and Stanley (on the left).
